Top Five Luxury Home Amenities

Luxury homes are common in nice neighborhoods. What are luxury homes? Luxury homes, in my definition, are large houses, preferably mansions, which are equipped with many commodities, many garage bays, multiple bedrooms, fireplaces, and bathrooms, and other luxurious things. Many of them can be found in places such as Beverly Hills in California, Highland Park in Texas, and all over the world.

1. Porte Cochere - A porte cochere is a French-designed shelter used in the old days for carriage parking. When I say the name porte cochere, you probably do not know what I am talking about. Once you see a picture, you will know! It is basically a drop-off garage seen at hotels, resorts, and even houses. Porte cocheres are helpful because they allow for the people to arrive safely to an event free from harm such as weather. Porte cocheres are usually built around an opening to a building. Porte cocheres were invented for someone to easily pass through and drop off a passenger to an event at a house or meeting at an office. Carports are much like porte cocheres, except the carports are designed for a car to park under them. Porte cocheres are not; they are designed to drop someone off, like I said above.

2. Pool – Ah, the wonderful pool. After a long, hot day of work, coming home to a large pool surrounded by waterfalls, giant boulders, and marvelous flowers sounds amazing. These days, every other house has a pool. Luxury homes have crazy pools. Im not talking your usual small, kiddy pool. Im talking long baby blue water pool lined with beautiful creations. Some luxury homes even have multiple pools combined into one. Some also can be found inside of the house.

3. Cabana – A cabana is a small covered hut usually close to a body of water. In luxury homes, the cabana is out by the pool. Cabanas provide safety from the weather (if you are swimming), an area to keep close, or just a place to go out and lounge, sleep, or even camp out! They are usually made of wood and have a Mediterranean/beachside look. Cabanas tend to blend in with the house structure and model.

4. Detached Garage Bays – Detached garage look very nice on a luxury property. You have your mansion and then your 5 car garage out to the side. Some luxury houses are multiple garage bays into the teens. I guess they need a place to hold their Lambos and Ferraris. Most detached garage bays come in threes, but multiple can be seen. Detached garage bays are probably the most famous commodities of luxury homes. A 4 car garage won’t fit them, so they have to build more. Regardless, they look really good.

5. Tennis Court – What a great game; tennis. The game you don’t really have to dress up for! That’s my kind of sport. But why does tennis attract the rich so much? I really have no idea, I guess because its so fun! Many luxury houses have tennis courts. Some homes that aren’t even luxury-worthy have tennis courts. Besides tennis courts, some homes also have a basketball court on volleyball court. Tennis courts make the homes and the home owner look very nice.
