A Place for the Rich and Famous: Holmby Hills, California
67Holmby Hills is part of the Platinum Triangle. Holmby Hills, just like Beverly Hills, contains many luxurious mansions and lavishful estates. The most prominent streets of the whole Platinum Triangle all lie in Holmby Hills. These streets are South Mapleton and North Carolwood. More of the famous people live in Holmby Hills, such as Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion, the producer Ray Stark, one of the most expensive homes in the world - The Spelling Manor, singer Michael Jackson, and music mogul Jimmy Lovine.
The developer of Holmby Hills was millionaire Arthur Letts, Sr. who purchased the land from a rancher. Letts wanted and dreamed about transforming Holmby Hills into a ritsy, high affluent community, but he suddenly died in 1923 giving his son in law full pocession of the project. The son in law, Harold Janss, continued to build the project. It wasn't until the 1950's that the extreme rich population began to move into Holmby Hills. The lots were massive and so were the homes sitting on them, which was perfect for someone of great wealth.
To this day, Holmby Hills can be known as one of the wealthiest communities in America. Some actors who have had some affiliation with Holmby Hills include Frank Sinatra, Lucy Ball, Elvis, Michael Jackson, Sonny and Cher, and Marilyn Monroe.

There are Rolls in them thar Hills!...spoken by Jed Clapett of the Beverly Hillbillies TV episodes in the early 1960's. Brentwood, and Beverly Hills are but a stones throw from Santa Monica Blvd. and Wilshire Blvds.Very palatal homes indeed. Excellent photo gallery historical content.

It is hard to believe that some people live such a life of luxury. Could one live a normal life as the rest of us know it?
