And Kings Will Come From Your Body, a talented Christian artist

I am writing this hub because I was recently introduced to a very talented band named ‘And Kings Will Come From Your Body’. The artist is a guy named Taylor. On his profile on Jamendo (link below), he describes himself as a ‘self-taught musician who writes and produces electronic synth pop out of his dorm room’. So far, And Kings Will Come From Your Body has put out 3 albums. All of you who enjoy Christian music mixed in with a little pop sound to it, this is definitely an artist to take a listen to. A Little History

As I said above, the artist's name is Taylor, my friend. He has been writing lyrics for songs longer than he has been playing music. He attends JBU, John Brown University in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. While at JBU, Taylor realized that the lyrics of the songs he had been writing could now, in his power, be turned into actual songs. Being a one man band, it took some practice to learn the different instruments he wanted the songs to be played to. He learned up on music theory and on different keyboard techniques and he had it down. All he needed now was a little help! With the help of some JBU professors, Taylor had music basically in his pocket! One song led to another, and then poof, he made 3 albums recorded.

The Sound

The genre of And Kings Will Come From Your Body is synth pop. In a nutshell, this means that Taylor records Christian music with a pop sound to it. Do not get it confused with Christian music; it is Christian music as in songs but in a synth pop sound. Some songs that tTaylor records are older hymns such as ‘Be Thou My Vision’, which was Taylor'’s first song made from scratch. Another song like ‘So Are You’ was recorded with a little help from pre-recorded sounds. Some reviews say the music sounds “Enchanting, magical at times, synthesiser, pop, album filled with outstanding, atmospheric, vocals and lyrics that captivate your imagination” and another reads “As to be expected totally beautiful pop from the start to stop”. So as you can see, this music, in summary, is interesting, yet inspiring.

Album Releases

As I said above, And Kings Will Come From Your Body has released 3 albums I would call one word: genuine. The first album is called “Keeping the Demons at Bay”, the second album is titled “The Beauty and Fragility of Being Human”, and the third album is called “We are all priests. We are all sinners.”
