This hub is specifically designed to ask the question, What would you do if you won 100 million dollars? It's a question everyone loves to think about and then answer. So I figured, it would be fun to see what people would do with 100 million dollars! So first, I am going to tell you what I would do with my 100 million dollars. Then, I encourage you to comment or even write a hub about what you would do with your 100 million! Have fun with this!

If I were to win 100 million dollars...

I would go on a buying spree, just like everyone else. I have specifically thought about what I would do with 100 million dollars just in case something like that does happen.

First and foremost, I would give a lot to my church and to various charities.

Now to the commodities. I would look on the market for a house around 5 million dollars with at least a 10 car garage. The house must have 5-6 bedrooms with 2 media rooms, 2 game rooms, 10 fireplaces, lots of land, a giant pool, and most importantly, 10 car garages. To me, the garages would be the most important. Here is what I would have in each of my garages.

Garage #1 - Located in garage number 1 would be a BMW M9 convertible. It will be tan with chrome rims, door handles, etc.

Garage #2 - Located in garage number 2 would be a slick orange Lamboghini with dark black rims.

Garage #3 - Located in garage number 3 would be a silver Ford F-350, extended cab with a dual flowmaster to make the houses around mine shake when I turn it on.

Garage #4 - Located in garage number 4 would be a dark silver 2010 Aston Martin V12 Vantage. It wouldn't have anything too special because its already an Aston Martin.

Garage #5 - Located in garage number 5 would be a black Bentley Continental GT convertible. It would have top of the line rims.

Garage #6 - Located in garage number 6 would be a red Porsche Carerra GT.

Garage #7 - Located in garage number 7 would be a pearly white 2006 Range Rover Sport.

Garage #8 - Located in garage number 8 would be a dark green Land Rover Discovery 3 with a big sunroof.

Garage #9 - Located in garage number 9 would be a dark black 2009 Range Rover Sport HSE with lots of upgrades.

Garage #10 - And my favorite which I would drive the most: Located in garage number 10 would be a Izmir Blue Metallic 2010 Range Rover Supercharged with dark ebony leather and ebony seats lined with Anigre Wood. I would get this baby customized to the max! Thats what I would do with my money. If I have any left over, thats tax money and gas money. And of course I would give more to churches and charities.

Let me hear what you would do with your 100 million!! I am interested to see...

FIRST... My husband and I would fly to California, without telling my sons, gather the three of them at a nice dinner and hand them each a check for $1 million!!!! After celebrating with them, we would return, finish up construction on our property...expand OF COURSE!!! Buy land on a mountain top here, build a big, log cabin, with a view OF COURSE... and then travel while it's being built and buy up more properties.... Then I would visit, old faithful friends and surprise them with things they may not be able to afford... come back and surprise new friends we have made in the last 3 years, with things they could not afford....the best part.... sharing and surprising family and friends!!!! And, all those who come running, who "used to be" friends, wellllllllllllllllllllllll, we know what they would get!!!! GREAT HUB!!!!! Now, I'm heading back to FB to tell you I read it!!! :-)

It would be nice to win $100 million. I will take it that I have already paid taxes, or I could hope to win in Britain where no taxes are paid on lottery winnings or the like. :)

My first choice would to be give my wife half, living in California, she might decide to divorce me and take half. Hopefully being generous might stop such a situation.

My second choice would be to buy a house in maybe Tennessee or West Virginia. I like to visit Civil War sites and this might prove a good vacation home. I would also consider buying a home on the central California coast, near Santa Cruz or Monterey. The climate is fair and should cost only around five million dollars for the two.

I would place about $10 million in State bonds, the tax free monthly dividends would give me a decent income to live on.

So down to about $35 Million already! I would consider providing a scholarship foundation for my college. I am not sure how much that would take but I'll assume $10 million

I would put $1 million in my bank accounts to give me "silly money" to spend on frivolities.

From there I might look to create some income I have wondered about becoming a travel guide to Britain.(Being British I know some good places to visit) I could organize trips and go along sharing my knowledge,as a personal guide. A couple of million start-up could perhaps suffice.

The rest I think I would like to share in the form of being a business "angel" looking for good ideas which need backing, advice and such.

I would give 80% of it to Christian Charities (I could list them here but there would probably be a couple hundred of them. I do know who they are right now). 10% I would spread among all the poor people I personally know. The rest I would travel around the world and continue to write. I wouldn't change my home or vehicle or furniture.

Money is such a divisive thing and changes folks. If one is faithful with his money and gives as he is directed by God it flows with ease from him. I would like to think that I would give the majority of it to the salvation of souls in one way or another. I dream small when it comes to my wants. I feel I am already a rich man. I have a wife that loves me and children that love me. I have two sisters that love me. I have a job and a place to live. I am saved and know the savior so what more could I want? I would like to see that real needs of my family were met. But I wouldn't want them changed by money either. My children need to know that working is good. I would hope that wisdom would prevail and giving and keeping would be by God's wisdom. Nothing is more important than the salvation of lives for Jesus. Bibles need to be bought. Missionaries need support. Things need to be done for God. I pray I never win such a thing because I am a sinner and maybe nothing I just said would be done. Maybe it would change me and my family and I would lose all of my friends who wouldn't be able to relate to me anymore. I know I am weird but it's easier not to have money than to vanquish some inner lusts. Please Lord give such a thing to someone more worthy than I.

Having that kind of money suddenly fall into my lap, I would first give My Heavenly Father , His 10th and more to other Christian organizations I support. I would give some things to people I know of that could really use a helping hand, that are good, decent people and not just some drug head or drunk out wanting a hand out. I would help all of my children, and brothers with things I know they want. I buy me some good level to rolling land and build me that big white farm house with the wrap around porch I've always wanted. Buy me that car I've dreamt of having. And I'm sure I would buy things to fill that farm house. Make sure I put some of the money up to live off of or invest in something I know to be a sure thing.

First I would take about $10M and put it in an investment account with my Wife's name so she would always be taken care of.

All expenditures will be done based on at least 10% to 20% of the $100M be either given as a tithe for Gods work or invested in safe investments where the earnings would be designated to be spent for Gods Glory.

Next would be a deposit of funds that would set up accounts for family education, medical expenses, insurance and limited retirement. This is probably 5% of the money.

With a good fortune like this it would be important to make sure that the money does not corrupt anyone that is touched by it. This includes me, my family, friends and any charities that I would give to. For example everyone needs to maintain some type of work ethic. So after a reasonable start up period of celebration for all my family members and maybe some gifts of houses and cars, I would agree to match any money that they earn (maybe 2 to 5 times what they earn) so that they had an incentive to continue to work, but the freedom to make sure that they were doing something that they enjoyed. I might be on permanent vacation, but I expect other family members to have a job.

For charities, I think that their normal fund raising is critical to their mission and their relationship with their supporters so I would be careful about giving funds that allow them to reduce their fund raising efforts. This means that other that some reasonable contributions, the bulk of the gifts, capital improvements, paying off debts, matching normal fund raising or starting up new operations. It is critical that a charity be able to function in the future without my gifts or that the gifts be distribute over a period of time.

I would also put a large amount 10% to 20% in a fund that would be controlled by a group of friends that would channel any gift requests, charity donations, and business loans. They would be paid a reasonable amount for their efforts and make decisions on how the money would be doled out to others or invested in business decisions. Distributions and expenses from this fund would be limited to 10% of the funds value per year so all gifts would continue for a long time.

The bulk of the funds (30% to 40%) would need to be safely invested so that the earnings of these investments would support my new life style as a multi-millionaire. The bulk of these investments will be made in loans and equity purchases that impact my local community.

From there I would start to spend money on stuff, (homes, vacation home, cars, property, and travel). This would be as much as 15% of the money. Before any purchase was made a deposit for all of the expenses for that purchase (taxes, insurance, maintenance, support personnel, additional loan payments ...) for a minimum of 5 years would be deposited in an account that would assure that these assets could be managed for a reasonable period of time. Every year the expenses for the next year’s operation of this asset would have to be deposited in the account or the asset would be sold.

The biggest problem that I have is that I spend way too much time dreaming about this possiblity and not working hard enough on improving what I do on a daily basis.

I would 1st give God the glory and give to my church and several charities. Then I would give my mother a few million. Afterwords I would invest in a better education and get my business degree, because a fool and his money is soon parted. All my debts would be paid off, and I would not incur any miscellaneous debts. I would require my kids to get an education/degree to find a fit to qualify management of their inheritance. My wife and I would simply payoff our home, do some improvements, and enjoy our life together. Most of it would be given away, and we would simply live off the interest on a few million. Our Lord and savior made it clear how difficult it is to get into heaven if you're already rich, so it's a scary thought to have that much money.

First I would tithe (10% to charity). This would be done by creating an estate that would spin off the interest to charities...in essence a gift that keeps giving. I figure 10 mil at 5% is 500,000 dollars a year to designated charities.

I would give 10 mil to my family, immediate family. If they want to help extended family out-they will have the money to do that.

The rest would be invested in companies, stocks, bonds, mutual funds...etc. Conservatively a 6% return would give me 4.8 mil a year and 2.4 mil after taxes-roughly. 2.4 mil offers a good life that does not run out! I probably won't be able to spend it all every year so I will reinvest or set up my future generations with decent lives. Oh yeah, and tithe on my earnings...

First, with no question,I would give to atleast 3 of the churches I have attended throughout my life 10%.Next,I would offer my mom her own home to her self or stay with me and my future wife in our 2 to 5 million home. Then I would do 3 things, which I've had desires to do for the last 3yrs now, which is,1-go to childrens hospital to help kids,2-give and help homeless shelters, and 3-I definitely want so badly help the handycap people.Last,I would visit and help my relatives and friends all over the world like Australia, hawaii,New Zealand,Saudi Arabia,Phillippines, and states here in USA.I have made this promise to my girlfriend and it would most likely be in these order.Thank you for the oppurtunity to share this dream of mine.God bless.

WOW! now how MANY times have I thought "I would GLADLY trade one set of troubles, for some I can AFFORD"! HA HA! But seriously,After Unkle Sam is finished "financially sodomizing" me, I would buy a place in the CITY ( Nashville, Tn.)with a good VIEW of Downtown! I would want to be close to everything, especially, the Veterans Hospital. I am a disabled Veteran, and I KNOW these Men & Women NEED a HAND UP! Of course I would also need a few hundred acres of LAND to build my DREAM HOME! A NICE (2)bedroom,(2)full,&(2)half baths.Maybe a MODEST 2500sqft

I like "elbow room"! of COURSE I would NEED a VERY LARGE Workshop With my MACHINIST tools & machinery. I may not be able to work for a living, but I still like to KEEP BUSY. Woodworking, restoring/rebuilding auto's& motorcycles TOO! I would NEED one of those "Tour Busses" like the STARS have, so I can TRAVEL COMFORTABLY.

speaking of COMFORT,it goes WITHOUT SAYING, that I would "SET-UP" my family, and friends... I would donate to LOCAL CHARITIES, here in MIDDLE TN. I want to be SURE the money goes where it is NEEDED!

WealthDiva 17 months ago

I am presuming that this presupposes, that the $100 million is after taking a lump sum and paying taxes so the orignial win would need to be well over $200 gross.

I would first set up a special trust that would allow me to claim the money anonymously. Many peoples lives become nightmares, once people get wind of the fact that they are lottery winners.

I would tell only a few trusted confidantes.

I would take it to a financial adviser that is qualified to deal with wealth management and private banking and set up a strategy to allocate the money. I would take a lump sum payment. This would include allocation to my favorite charitable organizations.

I would move the bulk of the money offshore, say $60 million,so that if this country self destructs, I would have options. I would put a large chunk into commodities such as gold or silver, I would also buy shares in Net Jets so that I could leave anywhere via private plane anytime I needed.

I would then move to a private community, but would probably lease rather than purchase the home right away.

I would set up trusts for kids and family. I would pay off all debt.

I would take a good six months off from my business ( I am self employed) and plan, get clear about the future. I would also fund my business at a greater level. I would also hire a bunch of team members to help me run my empire.

I would also reserve an apartment on the luxury cruise ship The World and cruise the world for a year or two. I would take my kids and allow people to come and visit me at the various destinations, and hang. I would run my business virtually from the cruise ship.

I would use my business to create the greatest possible transformative technologies for human beings. I would study with world class mentors, spiritual leaders and entrepreneurs, so that my business has helping people, but was also financially viable.

Bruce 16 months ago

The first 40% I would split between four churches that have been very instrumental in my life. Then I would pay off my sister's mortgage and set up a trust so she would never have to work a day in her life unless she wanted to. Next I would buy some land and build a church for my brother in law, a truly mighty man of God who has a gift for teaching. I would also set up a trust for my nephew, so he could start the businesses he has worked so hard to learn about and start. Next I would set up three, one million dollar trusts for my best friends' children. I would then pay off my very good friends mortgage and get him that luxury RV he has always wanted. I have another dear friend whose mortgage I would pay off as well as all her current debts. I would then buy a huge yacht and invite all my friends to travel around the word with me for a year and I would pay all their expenses while they were gone with me. After we returned, I would invest in a couple of ideas I have and create the inventions that have been in my head for a while. I would build 2 homes, maybe three: one on the beach somewhere, one in the mountains, another I'd decide later. Most of the rest I would invest so I could be certain of an income for myself and my heirs in perpetuity. I'd probably go back to college and get my Ph.D. And I'd learn to do some of the things I have always wanted to lear about. I'd have to prayerfully consider what I would do with the rest. I pray it comes to pass

( Because we need a study income and stop spending all of the money ). I would build a church on the island and just enjoy life when I wasn't working . I would have a large garden . I would make a retreat for returning service men and there families to stay for free and heal .

I would carry on my animal rescue centre but i would need 80 acres to build enclosures, aviaries, kennels and catteries. we take in every animal you can think of from horses to mice and sheep to turtles. we currently have 225 animals that we care for, we love animals and love taking care of the ones that have been hurt or neglected by people, i would never need to worry about not having any food for my animals and basically be living my dream whilst making thousands of animals happy and safe.

If someone could tell me how to buy land on a buy to let kind of scenario like when you pay a percentage of the real price i would pack my bags and find my new land tonight.

People would be able to walk freely around my animal rescue and know that every animal there is cared for after having an awful life, we would have people that work there for the sake of the animals and always put them first.

we would also take in troubled teens or the homeless to educate and teach them about animals and how to make a life and a living whilst being happy.

That to me would be an absolute fairytale so fingers crossed that i win the lottery soon! Visit my site to see all my animals that we have rescued over the years, thanks, bye.

My girlfriend and I have a plan already to spend our 100,000.000 dollars.

First we will pay off our stuffs and then go around in our family and give them the necessary money they need to keep going in life, I would like to give to my boss at least 500.000 dollars for her and her family because they have been a lifesaver for both, me and my girlfriend besides they are excellent people, also donate some money for charity. Travel around the world and see places like the china wall, taj mahal, egipt, greece, several caribbean islands, bora bora, hawaii, paris, amsterdam, italy, las vegas, the grand canyon, india and maybe a couple more. Later we both want to study more in our careers like going and do courses like wild mananagment, dolphin training, scuba diving, special needs for kids etc. Buy a beachfront house of 4 bedrooms where we can hear the waves from our bedroom and when we open the curtains see the ocean from our window, have a pooldeck where we can have breakfast every morning and have some stairs that we can walk to the sand. Next to the house in our acreage we want to have a non profit organization for squizofrenic, deppresive,to the edge, non accepting inner gay, veterans and special needs kids people. We will work with this people giving them animal therapy with dolphins, horses and a big cats show. Also aquatic and fitness therapy that would relax them so we would have a pool and a small gym.

Once we have build the facility and gotten the animals we would buy our dream cars which are a BMW Z4 Roadster hard top in white for my girlfriend and a Jeep Unlimited soft top, stick shift in black for myself. Their would be an extra car for the animal's supplys which would be a truck.

Our last buy for now would be a Performance Cruising boat. Ji ji God Bless everybody

I would have it all in $100 dollar bills, and the bank would see $0. No need to invest or really worry about anything at that point. Tell no one and pay off everything in cash and buy everything in cash. Then get off the grid and learn to really live life.

FIRST I WOULD THANK GOD FOR HEARING MY CRYS FOR HELP

Then I would payoff the debts the keep me under stress wondering how I'm going to pay them month-month including my power and utility bills so they don't get shut off again when my check isn't enought to cover the full amount. Then I'd buy a comfortable house for my family and I to live in a place where there is 4 real season's not just heat as in the desert. And best of all I'm going to play secret santa year around as so really great people have done and do helping others.

First I would buy a Ferrari 458 Italia and a decked out Suburban for my wife and kids. Next I would make sure that my parents and my siblings homes are paid for. My brother would get that Screamin Eagle Harley and my sister that Hummer H2. Mom would get a new Audi. With about $99M left to spend I would donate to the Churchand start to look at housing. I would look to settle in Maryland ($9M) to enjoy all four seasons and have getaway homes in South Carolina/Georgia ($4M) and on Florida's Emerald Coast ($3M). College and trust funds for each of the four kids ($20M). There would be a boat and some toys for the homes. Furnishing the houses would probably run about $1.5M. Taxes would probably hit me for $1M/year. Staff and upkeep for the homes and a driver for the boat would probably run about another $1M/yr. At that rate I should wind up broke in about ten years like most lottery winners.

I would use the money to help people around the world with cleaner water .

We take water for granted since all we have to do is to turn on and off. There are many countries do not have this blessings. I would keep 10% and use rest of money to support missionaries and building churches to glorify God.

First, I'd set up a blind trust so nobody would know I won so much money. I would set up a fund to protect me from ME.

I would take care of my family and friends in a secret way. I would even send myself the same envelope everyone else gets.

I would form a local charity. I would secretly take care of those in need.

I would live WELL.

100 million dollars. I would get some legal advice, make investment that would keep money rolling in. Once you spend it, it's gone so why make money off of it. Buy a Rolls-Royce, a comfortable house and maintain. Still stay active, vacation here and there but still be careful on what purchases I've made.
