Tarrant county is in the heart of north Texas. The county holds the major cities of Arlington and Fort Worth, along with other small communites and towns. In this hub, the homes of Tarrant county will be the main topic along with the average type of homes in the cities, where the wealthy parts of the county are, etc. Most of the information on this hub is purely mine due to my knowledge and experience in data based research.

Short Analysis of Major Cities (Arlington and Fort Worth)

Arlington is one of the growing major cities of Tarrant county. Arlington is located in the south eastern part of the county and is home to a growing 400,000 people. The city now holds the largest football stadium every built, the Cowboys stadium. Small communities located in Arlington include Pantego and Dalworthington Gardens.

Fort Worth is the most popular city of Tarrant county. 1.7 million people call Fort Worth home. It is the 17th biggest city in America and 5 largest city in the state of Texas. The city embodies most of Tarrant county and even extends into Denton and Parker counties to the north and west.

Average Homes in Tarrant County

The average homes in Tarrant county are approx. 1,800 square feet and an approx. of 180,000 dollars. The average in the state of Texas is just over 100,000. These are calculations based on my history of data base research through the Tarrant Appraisal District.

Wealthy Places in Tarrant County

Obviously where the wealthy places and neighborhoods are in the county, the larger homes will be located as well. There are many wealthy neighborhoods that stand alone all around Tarrant county, but the larger homes and the reputation of luxury homes are in 3 prime locations in Tarrant: Westover Hills, Southlake/Colleyville, and Dalworthington Gardens.

-Westover Hills-

Westover Hills is a small town on the west side of Fort Worth, a.k.a where all the old money is located. Many old inhabitants of Fort Worth and many popular people, rich attorneys, or affluent doctors call Westover Hills home. In 2000, Westover Hills was the wealthiest city in Texas based on the average household income. Average homes in Westover Hills run from around 700,000 all the way up to 9,000,000, where the famous residents live. The homes of Westover Hills are generally massive. Most multi million dollar estates run from 10,000 to 20,000 square feet and there is even a few that may exceed that limit. The wealthiest of residents is the Bass family. Nancy, Anne, Lee, Robert, Sid, and Richard Bass are all wealthy businessmen and woman who inherited a fortune from their very affluent parents. They would be the ones living in the multi million dollar estates, for example, Robert's home is appraised at nearly 9 million dollars. The area is now gated so anyone can hop in their car and go take a drive through the windy streets and browse the amazing estates and homes located in the area. Its quite a thriller for those of us who are luxury home guru's!

-Colleyville/Southlake-

While Westover Hills is more of old money and old massive estates, the Colleyville and Southlake area is more of modern day luxury homes and modern wealthy individuals. Colleyville and Southlake are both located in the northern half of the county. The average home sizes are anywhere from 1,000 square feet (not many homes) to some even up to 15,000 square feet. Home prices are also hitting a big range from 100,000 all the way up to 5-8 million. Colleyville isn't a place for the mega rich, like Westover is, but Colleyville and Southlake are more of a place for rich people instead. However, they are some mega rich people who live in the area, including the Jonas Brothers.

-Dalworthington Gardens-

Dalworthington Gardens, DWG for short, is located in Arlington in the southern half of the county. 'Dal' comes from Dallas, 'worth' comes from Fort Worth, and 'ington' comes from Arlington. DWG is one with a rich history, for one of it's first residents was Eleanor Roosevelt, the former first lady. Dalworthington Gardens has a variety of homes, ranging from the 1,000 square feet homes to the 10,000 square foot homes and up. Home prices include 100,000 all the way to nearly 3,000,000.
