Three Ways to Increase Hub Traffic
69
Traffic. It’s one of the key elements to success with online writing. We are all looking how to increase traffic and really make money through traffic. Through my own experiences with HubPages, I have learned a lot about traffic to my hubs. I figure, since I know a lot of traffic ways, why not share them and help with other hubbers. I hope you learn something about hub traffic and easy ways to get it.
Do your hubs have good keywords?

Good keywords in the title allow for someone to search something on a topic through a search engine and pick up your hub. With good keywords, you will most likely great really good traffic. I have a hub titled ‘Top Ten Places to Visit in Texas’. That hub is all keyword except for the ‘to’ and ‘in’.
If you have a hub that is not getting very good traffic, I advise you to change the hub title and insert some keywords in there. For example, if you have a hub titled “Nice Fossil Watches” you may want to do a couple things. First, take a look at the hub and count how many watches are on there. Second, change the title to insert better keywords. So if you counted and there are 6 cool fossil watches on the hub, you could change the hub title to “Top 6 Cool Fossil Watches” or “Top 6 Fossil Watches”. So, keywords are a big part in getting traffic.

Tips on Choosing Good Keywords When generating traffic to your hubs and/or website, you want the most traffic you can get. One thing that affects traffic greatly is keywords. In general,...
2. Pictures – You usually do not think of pictures generating very good traffic, but indeed they do. Pictures only come in handy when there are many on your hub. For example, if the first picture on your hub has a small caption saying “view all ___ pictures” you are in good shape.
So how exactly do you get traffic from pictures? Well, it’s actually not too hard to understand. I have a hub titled ‘The Different Types of Clouds’ and it has roughly 20 pictures of clouds on there. When someone goes to Google Images and types either the name of a cloud or ‘the different types of clouds’ and clicks on one of the photos, I will get traffic. This is only if that picture is on my hub. If that picture is not on my hub, it will take that person to a different website.
My hub on the different types of clouds has almost 600 views. I was definitely not expecting that number. Its got about 1500 picture views.
It also helps if you put a small message under your photo. For example, if I have a picture of Texas I will put in the small caption ‘The Great State of Texas!’ or something like that. If someone types that in, there is a possibility that will lead to my hub.
3. Social Networking Sites – Possibly the easiest way to generate traffic is just to post your hub URL or your profile URL on social networking sites such as FaceBook, MySpace, Twitter, Digg, etc. On FaceBook, you can use the status bar, your profile, groups, and other applications to generate traffic to your hubs. I have used FaceBook for traffic many times. Not too bad coming in at around 600 views from FaceBook. Good things to do if you are using FaceBook is use messages. You could message anyone you wanted that you have published a new hub or something. I have written a separate hub on getting traffic through FaceBook and the link is provided below.
I also use Twitter for traffic too. I haven’t gotten much traffic from Twitter, but it is still good getting your hubs out there. I have also written a separate hub on getting traffic from Twitter. The link is below
