Well Howdy, ya'll! Being a native Texan and an avid freelance writer of many Texas-based hubs, I have decided to create somewhat of a Texas Rectangle based off the Platinum Triangle in California (Holmby Hills, Beverly Hills, Bel Air) which contains four points of must-visit cities in Texas. Lets get right on into the trip!

Point One - Arlington, Texas

Arlington, Texas is located in between Dallas and Fort Worth in northern Texas.

For the lovers of fun: visit Six Flags of Texas! One of the greatest amusement parks ever built. You will certainly enjoy every last bit! Of course Arlington has many other fun attractions like visiting the new Cowboys stadium and Hurricane Harbor.

For the lovers of history: one of the coolest historical landmarks in Arlington is just east of the intersection of Mayfield and Cooper. In this area, you will find a cemetary and a small momument because right there on the grounds is where Arlington first started way back when! It is a very cool experience to stand there and wonder what it must have been like.

For the lovers of good food: I would advise of two restaurants; Traildust Steakhouse or Davids Barbarque. Traildust Steakhouse is located at 2300 Lamar Blvd in northern Arlington very close to Hurricane Harbor and Six Flags. While you eat, you will enjoy a live band. Also, the kids love the restuarant because of the restaurant's massive slide. On the other side of town is Davids Barbarque, which is some of the best Texas barbarque you will ever put in your mouth! It is located at 2224 W Park Row Drive in central Arlington.

For the lovers of music: there are 2 famous people who live in Arlington, Texas that have hit the big time in music and oddly enough, they live right down the street from each other in Dalworthington Gardens (a small community in Arlington). Dimebag Darrell, the late guitarist for Pantera, and Melissa Lawson, the country star who won 'Nashville Star' on NBC in 2008, both call Arlington home.

Point Two - San Antonio

San Antonio, Texas is considered to be the tourist capital of Texas. It is located in southern Texas south of Austin.

For the lovers of fun: Most of San Antonio is filled with family fun, but the funniest activity is eating, walking, or shopping along the restaurants, trails, and stores of the Riverwalk. The San Antonio River runs right through San Antonio. The natives here have set up an interesting experience right along the river. You can even get on small boats and ride the river with a tourist guide. Other popular attractions in San Antonio are Fiesta Texas and SeaWorld.

For the lovers of history: obviously the number one historical marker in San Antonio is the Alamo. The attraction is the actual building where Texas fought the Mexican Army. Walk through the building and view artifacts, old photographs, and other historical evidences. Once you have walked through the actual Alamo building, there is a shop along with an eating area lined with nice landscaping.

Point Three - The Hill Country

The Hill Country is more of a region located in the south/central part of Texas. Located in this area area many little towns and cities filled with fun Texan stuff to do or even buy!

Fredricksburg, Texas - Certainly this small German hertiage Texas town has a lot to offer. With over 200 shops now and counting, Fredricksburg can come close to being the coolest smallest town in Texas. All the shops and even some businesses and houses have that 'old look' which then produces that old look feeling like you are back in the 19 century.

Marble Falls, Texas - Just saying the name Marble Falls instantly puts the image of beautiful rushing falls and luxurious landscape into one's mind. Marble Falls is exactly that. Situated around the hills of Lake Marble Falls, the town enjoys overlooking a large lake filled with tourists or natives who love racing boats, ski doos, or other water vehicles. The beautiful falls of Marble Falls were carved by limestone.

New Braunfels, Texas - New Braunfels is another great Hill Country town filled with fun. In fact, the giant waterpark Schlitterbahn is located here. One of the funnest things I have ever done was tube the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels!

Highland Lakes, Texas - The Highland Lakes are 6 man made rivers located down around the Colorado River in the Hill country. The lakes are Lake Travis, Lake Austin, Lake LBJ, Lake Marble Falls, Lake Buchanan, and Inks Lake. Bring the family here for fun on the lakes! Boating, fishing, swimming: whatever you love to do!

Point Four - Amarillo

Our last stop is Amarillo, Texas located in the southern panhandle.

For the lovers of good food: one of the most famous restaurants in Texas is located in Amarillo which is the Big Texan. The massive restuarant is called the "Home of the FREE 72 oz. Steak". Yes, it is true. If you get up on a platform in front of the restaurant and eat a whole 72 oz. steak, you get it for free! If not, you pay the fee of 72 dollars.

For the lovers of fun: A portion of the road Route 66 is located in Amarillo. Along this portion of Route 66 are many shops, restaurants, and fun attractions.

For the lovers of adventure and nature: If you find climbing large rock mountains and glancing over massive cliffs at green trees and nature covered grounds, then you will love Palo Duro Canyon in Canyon, Texas. The best part is driving into the canyon; brace for large hills and twisty roads! While you are there, visit the play "Texas!" which is a famous play that plays there. It is certainly a very fun experience.
