The Top 3 Ways to Tube

Tubing has to be one of the best ways of family fun yet. There are different types of tubing, all listed and talked about in this hub. If you haven’t ever gone tubing, please read how much fun tubing is and it might make you wanna go! Tubing can be safe in some ways and in some ways it cannot be safe. When it is and isn’t safe, tubing is fun which makes tubing fun every time you go.

The Different Ways to Tube

There are 3 mains ways to tube. Here they are.

Tubing in the Snow – Tubing in the snow is very fun, especially when you are tubing down a big hill. It’s easy, all you do is climb in the tube, have someone give you a boost, and ride the hill all the way down. Most ski resorts will allow tubing, but those that do not it’s ok. Find yourself a hill, and ride your own tube down your own hill!

You have to be careful when you are tubing on the snow because the tube will kick up snow in your face! Tubing on the snow can be fun, but you just have to watch what is getting kicked up in your face. Regardless, you will have a good time.

Tubing on a Lake – Probably the funnest way to tube is on a lake with a boat pulling you. The only thing bad about this situation is that you are not in control, the driver of the boat is! You are just along for the ride. You inflate a large covered tube, strap it to a boat with a long, durable rope, and then when the boat rides away, it pulls the tube. This creates a great way to tube on a lake!

When tubing on a lake, you must remember: you are not in control! The only person that is making the speed and turns is the driver of the boat. So don’t get on the tube unless you trust the driver.

Also, when the boat is driving and it goes strait, the boat creates almost like a block to ride on. When the boat turns, you and the tube spin outside of the wave onto the almost solid water. Then the boat turns again and you jump the block! It is so fun!

Tubing on a River – This is the most relaxing part of tubing. Usually when tubing, you are going at high speeds and in for a lot of action. Tubing on a slow river, for example the Guadalupe River in Texas, can be fun for partying. You load up into a truck with a tube, then the truck takes you up the river. Once at the starting point, you get in your tube and relax the slow, 3-4 hour trip home.

Tubing on a river, as I said, is good for partying. You can all get in a tube, connect to each other, and can even bring a tube with coolers in it. When I tubed on the Guadalupe, we passed a lot of parties.

The best part to tubing on a river is the rapids. There are not a lot of rapids and they are not very big, but you gain some pretty good speed going down and it’s a bumpy ride!
